CODE Camp Event Manager (f/m/x)

Temporary, Full-time · Berlin, Ruhrgebiet / Remote

About the Role

CODE is looking for a highly motivated and experienced CODE Camp Event Manager (f/m/x) to join our CODE + Design initiative.

CODE + Design is a dynamic project of CODE University of Applied Sciences dedicated to organising innovative and impactful events for teenagers aged 12-18 years in the Ruhr area, aimed at fostering creativity, collaboration, and learning within the tech and design communities. We are passionate about creating memorable experiences that inspire and empower youngsters to explore new ideas and skills.

In this position, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of our CODE Camp events, from conceptualisation and planning to logistics and execution.

As a CODE Camp Event Manager (f/m/x) we’re looking for someone who is able to take on the following responsibilities:

  • Develop event concepts, themes, and agendas.

  • Plan and execute all logistical aspects of CODE Camp events, including venue selection, catering, equipment rentals, and transportation.

  • Coordinate event promotion and marketing efforts to maximise attendance and engagement.

  • Manage event budgets and expenses, ensuring cost-effective planning and allocation of resources.

  • Recruit and manage event staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support throughout the planning process.

  • Oversee on-site event operations, including setup, registration, attendee assistance, and post-event cleanup.

  • Evaluate event success and gather feedback from participants to inform future event planning and improvements.

  • Cultivate relationships with sponsors, partners, and vendors to support event initiatives and secure additional resources.

To be successful in this, we’re looking for someone with the following skillset:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in event planning and management, preferably in the technology or design industry.

  • Fluency in German and English (minimum C1).

  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to work autonomously, multitask and prioritise competing demands effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules.

  • Availability to travel to the Ruhr area as needed.

If, beyond this, you bring along any of the following, it would give our team an edge.
Keep in mind that none of these points are requirements, though:

  • Vocational training or Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Familiarity with marketing and promotion strategies.

  • Passion for technology, design, and innovation.

We fully appreciate that the boundaries of your knowledge are where you start to grow, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t bring everything we need today. We want to create our future together.

For every position at CODE, we need you to meet the following requirements:

  • The right to work and primary residence in Germany.

  • Having a German bank account.

What you can expect:

  • Fixed-term contract (until 31.12.2024, with possibility to extend)

  • Full-time position (40 hours per week)

  • 4500 EUR per month (gross)

If you are passionate about event planning and excited about the opportunity to contribute to CODE + Design's mission, we would love to hear from you! Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you are interested in this role.
