About the Role
CODE University of Applied Sciences invites applications for the position of Professor of Entrepreneurship (f/m/x) starting August 1st, 2025 or later.
We are looking for a new colleague to further enlarge our entrepreneurial footprint in academia and practice. You should have extensive experience either as a start-up entrepreneur or as a coach for students starting up their companies. A solid background in both management-oriented topics and latest technological developments is a clear plus. We value didactic approaches where you don’t think of yourself as the main resource for valuable knowledge that needs to be transferred to the students by PowerPoint-driven lectures. Instead, we encourage you to provide challenges that trigger the intrinsic learning impulses of your students.
As Professor of Entrepreneurship, you will be responsible for:
Helping to grow our footprint as a tech-entrepreneurship focused university, fostering an entrepreneurial environment at CODE and nurturing our ecosystem.
Creating and delivering interactive learning formats and assessments in the field of management and entrepreneurship for modules in graduate and undergraduate programs.
Coaching and mentoring our students.
Contributing to the curriculum development for Bachelor and Master programs.
Conducting research in collaboration, ideally interdisciplinary with other faculty members.
Acquisition and implementation of research projects and partnerships with industry.
Contributing to the regular and systematic evaluation of the quality of teaching and research.
Representation of the university in the scientific and general public.
Active participation in the academic self-governance of the university.
For this role, we are looking for the following characteristics:
Have at least five years of significant professional experience with entrepreneurship and business economics inside and outside the educational sector, including at least three years in managing digital products.
Demonstrates a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and promoting equity through curriculum, coaching/mentorship, and classroom engagement.
Our campus language is English and all our courses are in English. Thus, you should have an excellent command in spoken and written English.
We want to make you a Professor, for this you have to meet the employment conditions for professors according to §100 of the Berlin Higher Education Law (in German: Berliner Hochschulgesetz, BerlHG), which include:
a doctorate-level degree,
pedagogical experience,
achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of professional practice, of which at least three years must have been practiced outside the university sector.
Additional selection criteria include:
Graduated from a renowned university with a PhD degree in Business Economics, Business Informatics, Management, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
First-hand experience in an MBA program, either via graduating with an MBA or via working in an MBA program.
Experience with business administration processes in an entrepreneurial environment, including financial modeling of product or innovation projects. International experience is a plus.
Experience with non-authoritative leadership, including either personnel management or a team leadership role.
An analytical mindset and experience in working with data-related tools.
Hands-on experience using AI (both predictive and generative AI) in business or learning contexts and an in-depth understanding of the current shifts in these fields.
First-hand experience working with agile software development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
The ability to understand complex business processes and needs in different cultures and markets.
Willingness and aptitude for interdisciplinary collaboration.
A passion for entrepreneurship and the user-centric mindset.
A sense of urgency, pragmatism and a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
Mentoring experience is preferable.
Experience in attracting research funding is a big plus.
Working experience in different cultural environments is highly appreciated.

What you can expect:
Permanent contract.
Full-time position (40 hours per week).
Depending on how much experience you bring along, we expect the salary to be between €6,166 and €7,083 per month (gross) for a full-time position.
