About the Role

We are seeking an experienced typography and design expert to join our freelance database for educational offerings in our Digital Design and Innovation program. Your role will involve designing and delivering an engaging 6-hour masterclass on Type Design Fundamentals, thoughtfully crafted for bachelor students passionate about digital design.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive face-to-face masterclass in English on our Berlin campus covering:
    • Typography Fundamentals: Break down complex type design principles into accessible segments suitable for design students
    • Digital Applications: Demonstrate how typography applies in digital contexts, emphasizing practical applications in branding and product UI
    • Accessibility & Ethics: Address inclusive design principles and ethical considerations in typographic choices
  • Customize content to suit diverse student backgrounds, ensuring relevance and engagement for digital design contexts
  • Facilitate interactive and hands-on sessions, encouraging active participation and practical learning experiences

REQUIREMENTS

  • Portfolio demonstrating strong typographic competence within broader design work (brand, editorial, digital)
  • Proven experience in educational training or workshop facilitation, with ability to engage student audiences
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with ability to simplify complex design concepts
  • Creative approach to education, incorporating interactive and experiential learning methods
  • Ability to tailor content for specific design contexts, particularly branding and product UI
  • Approachable and enthusiastic about sharing knowledge with emerging designers
