About the Role
We are looking for an experienced AI expert to join our pool of freelance lecturers for the master’s module “MTM_01 – AI Technologies and Applications” in our M.Sc. Technology & Management program.
As a Freelance Lecturer (f/m/x): AI Technologies and Applications, you will ideally take responsibility for the full 15 ECTS module, which consists of the course “AI Technologies” and the case study “Technical Dimensions of AI Applications”. In this role, you will guide students in understanding, selecting, evaluating, and adapting contemporary AI technologies, while also critically reflecting on their technical, ethical, legal, environmental, economic, and social implications.
Teaching will be organized as a hybrid format:
Intensive weeks on-site on CODE’s Berlin campus (two blocks of 2.5 days, approx. 09:00–18:00 incl. breaks)
Synchronous online sessions (one 3.25-hour slot per week)
Full responsibility for the module by one lecturer is preferred, but we are open to splitting the module between two lecturers and external presenters.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver the master’s-level module AI Technologies and Applications (15 ECTS)
Teaching is organized in two intensive teaching blocks on campus (2.5 days each) and a series or synchronous remote sessions.
Develop and curate learning materials that combine theoretical input with practical, hands-on work using contemporary AI technologies.
Facilitate interactive, challenge-based learning formats, including group work and case discussions, hands-on exercises and projects related to real-world AI applications
REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field. A PhD or equivalent research experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Professional expertise in AI, e.g. as Machine learning engineer, data scientist, AI researcher, AI product/tech lead, or similar role
Solid knowledge of core AI technologies, such as Machine learning and deep learning, applied AI systems and AI applications in products/services, awareness of current developments (e.g. foundation models, generative AI, LLM-based systems)
A solid background in education or training, with the ability to captivate and inspire diverse audiences.
Strong communication and facilitation skills in English (spoken and written).
